A Faith Called Chaos: Forgive Nothing
Volcom Entertainment
2004
9 out of 10

If you think A Faith Called Chaos is just another young, post-hardcore band combining forceful screams into each song – you’re probably right. What you didn’t expect from these guys however are their intricate guitar breakdowns accompanying the heavy, hard rock collaboration between all six members in the band.

Forgive Nothing is AFCC’s latest debut release off Volcom Entertainment. Produced by D. Braxton Henry and mastered by Alan Douches (Cave In, Alkaline Trio), this 10-track album mixes hardcore with malicious rock riffs and the unforgiving screams of singer/songwriter Jon Logan Allred. “Circa ‘98” opens the album with its first, power-striking song and ends just as fast as it began. Intense choruses and appreciation catches on as you listen to these energetic songs. The next track, “We Woke Up A Fire” starts out with sing-along lyrics, while a somewhat haunting and predictable melody introduces the album titled track “Forgive Nothing.” “Witless and White Knuckled” carries the album with a similar feel and “The Pugilist” is another great example of the craftsmanship of the band.

Lasting less than a mere 27-minutes, Forgive Nothing combines the emotional rage and enduring angst from AFCC – abrupt and straight to the point. If interest takes lead, be sure to approach Forgive Nothing with caution and watch them blow a fuse in today’s young rising artists.
