Which is your favorite venue to play in SD and why?
Tyler - Soma, because it's very easy to find, and it's basically our second home, other than Roswell.
Scott - Soma for sure, best draw & most well known all ages venue in SD.
Nic – Soma and House of Blues. They both have awesome sound and a lot of kids come out to the shows. Plus I have seen so many of my favorite bands play those stages. Oh and they know how to book shows correctly unlike some venues in or around San Diego.
Nate - Soma by far. It's got the best sound, best stages, it's like playing a real rock show.
In the Next 5 years where do you each see the band?
Tyler - I see us eating chocolate chip pancakes in a city that is too small to find on a map, and getting ready to hit the road for our next show with my best friends.
Scott – I see us becoming better musicians & gaining better song writing skills as well as getting large followings in other cities and touring as much as Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
Nic – I see us on the road playing shows in towns that are just absolute dumps and asking to sleep at random peoples' houses, but having the times of our lives.
Nate - I see us signed to a sweet label and touring full time with our favorite bands...sounds cliché.
Who are your favorite bands/biggest influences on the music you write?
Tyler - Jim Morrison, He Is Legend, Jason Mraz
Scott - Led Zeppelin,Incubus, Alexisonfire, Brand New & Goo Goo Dolls
Nic – He Is Legend, Megadeth (don't hate it), Every Time I Die, Alice in Chains
Nate - Dallas Green is my biggest influence in singing, and people like Benjamin Gibbard in song writing.. I don't know I have so many people I look up to.
What CD's are in your cars right now:
Tyler – Enter Shikari – Take to the Skies
Scott - Smashing Pumpkins- Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Nic – Foxy Shazam - Introducing, Wild Orchid Children, Garth Brooks – Greatest Hits (not even kidding), Judas Priest – Sad Wings of Destiny
Nate - I don't drive yet haha but lately Vie been playing city and colours latest album "bring me your love" Enter Shikari "Take to the skies" Sun Kill Moon's new album that hasn't come out yet, and Every time I die.
How do you describe your sound?
Tyler - A collaboration of all of our influences intertwined to create a woven piece of musical art
Nic – A group of dudes that play their own style of Rock N Roll. It's got a little something for kids of every scene to dig.
Nate - ummm... not really sure. we play stuff that we think is cool, but im not really sure of how to describe it
How do you feel about the local San Diego music scene?
Tyler - It's hard to say, since I've seen the ups, downs, and diagonals through out my years in the San Diego music scene. Everybody used to be really supportive and now it's a constant battle between bands and their fans, and other bands and their fans. Im not trying to preach "peace and love" all over San Diego, and im not saying I'm any better. It may be hypocritical but the only difference is I can admit to it. However thank you to that handful of musicians, and fans that have supported us and keep supporting us.
Scott – Lots of people are supportive but at the same time a lot of people aren't,
including most bands, there are a good amount of bands sharing conflict over who has more plays on myspace or who can accomplish more tour dates, but there should be more camaraderie and all bands sharing the same "band love" there was a few years ago, I would say a big portion to trying to stand out in the SD music scene is due to band's trying to feel on top of other, its a big struggle now
Nic – I think that it has its highs and lows. There are a lot of amazing bands here in San Diego right now of all genres (check out shenanigans). But there is also just not a lot of unity or friendship amongst the bands. Most of the time everyone spends all their time trying to outdo one another and it always feels like were all competing rather than having a good time and playing music together.
Nate - im actually not really a big fan of the SD music scene, but that's just my opinion. there are a lot of awesome bands out there but theres also a lot of stuff thats not my cup of pee..oh I mean tea
What is the biggest thing about the band that you want to improve?
Tyler - we would like a bigger fan base, the only thing that keeps us going is our fans, and friends. I believe we have a lot to offer to more people through out San Diego
Scott - more elaborate songs & become a band where people will come to watch us everywhere for our music skills, passion & for our creation not the way we dress or act
Nic – I would like to see our shows get crazier and personally I would like people to leave thinking that I'm insane for how ridiculous I act on stage (example, the A Static Lullaby/Enter Shikari show…).
Nate – I just want us to never stop.
Any last words?
Tyler – Slices Pizza in Escondido Rules!
Scott - we'll have an awesome new video coming later this month
check out (www. myspace. com/829productions)
Nic – We will have a new music video coming out this month. Also, Molly Campbell is a pretty sweet person. Oh and everyone needs to go to Roswell, New Mexico.
Nate – Don't change, stay the same.
