Pink Handgrenade
| Aaron: First off,
people may have heard that we broke up. This is not true, at least not anymore.
After tour this summer, Joel and Patrick decided to leave the band and pursue
other avenues. We were going to call it quits, but Ted was struck with a brilliant
idea (its top secret
please, dont tell anyone) but basically,
were still a band and are currently writing new material

SDP: How long have you been a band for?
Aaron:
A long time, on and off. About two years now, but weve taken long breaks
and gone through lineup changes and whatnot.
Ted: Dont ask me, Ive
only been around for 6 months.
SDP:
Where did you get your name from?
Aaron: People think its a euphemism
for that thing hanging between a mans legs and for that theyre creative
and unfortunately wrong.
Ted: Really?
SDP:
What makes Pink Handgrenade different from every other band out there?
Aaron:
We never claimed originality. But I guess the sexual tension between Ted and I
can produce some interesting scenarios.
Ted: When Im talking to people
that arent from major east or west coast cities, I tell them its our
original sound that sets us apart from the rest
SDP: Do you have a single song that has
a special meaning to you?
Aaron: Deadly Encounter With a Raccoon
was the hardest to write clocking in at the astonishing length of 2.5 seconds
long.
Ted: Yes.
SDP: What
bands, people, books, etc. have had the biggest influence on your band?
Aaron:
Choo-choo trains, bowling leagues, David Chokachi from Baywatch (if your life
too seems meaningless, visit www.davidchokachi.com
for life-changing inspiration), and every band or artist to come before us that
wrote nastier, louder, and more obnoxious music than we ever could.
Ted: One
man alone is my inspiration. His name: Dan Harshman.
SDP:
What is your live show like?
Aaron: That remains to be told as we undergo
lineup changes, who knows what the future holds. As for the past, lots and lots
and lots, just loads of violence. Religious sacrifices. Ritualistic murder. And,
the occasional ice-sculpting contest.
Ted: The past.
SDP:
What about the band are you most proud of?
Aaron: Having fun with friends
at shows and on the road. I like people making fun of us, its funny. Seeing
different places, its a wonderful opportunity to see lots of different places
that I otherwise would never go to (for example, Laramie, WY its
this wonderful place where guys like to drive down the street in army fatigues
with gun racks on the back of their motorcycles and yell at you as they race by
to go kill cute little furry deer.)
Ted: Its native heritage.
SDP: What CDs are currently in your stereo?
Aaron:
The Nirvana Box Set and numerous other cds that dont matter as much as that.
Ted:
Frank Zappa: Apostrophe.
SDP: Do you
have any closing comments?
Aaron: Look for new stuff coming next year,
new lineup, new songs. Thanks for reading this to the end.
Ted: The new album
is going to be fire. Cop it next year!

adds: Or, if you want the old demo with 14 songs or so, just email us at pinkhandgrenade@yahoo.com
and well send it you. We recorded this album December last year and didnt
like it as it came out too slow, but if you want it, its yours and probably
the last chance to ever hear these songs again)
