SDP:
Who's in the band and what do they do?
Cole: Guitar/Vox.
Josh: Bass.
Casey: Guitar/Vox.
Craig: Drums.
SDP: Briefly describe your music.
Cole: We write what we feel and don't care what
genre it may be, but I personally like it to be rockin'
along the lines of Alkaline Trio mixed
|
 |
with Social Distortion or even
Green Day.
Casey: With a little Rufio mixed in there at times.
Josh: They said it all.
SDP: Why should people listen to your band?
Craig: We're very versatile and have something for everyone
out there.
Casey: We have slow songs and fast songs, we're pretty well
rounded.
Josh: We rock out on stage.
Cole: People shouldn't be afraid to broaden their horizons
and try listening to a new style of music, if people hear
a song by us and like it then great if you don't like what
you hear then that's cool too.
SDP: How long has Exit 21 been a band for?
Craig: We've been rocking for about 6 months.
SDP: Where did you get your name from?
Cole: Well it was my idea...
Craig: Exit 21 was the exit that we used to practice at.
Casey: It's also the exit off the 5 for Sea World.
Josh: Yeah, we all work there except for Casey.
SDP: What makes Exit 21 different from every other band
out there?
Craig: We play different genres within each song.
Cole: We are not afraid to play whatever comes out at practice.
Josh: We all have very different influences so it lends itself
to creating a new sound at times.
SDP: Is there any message you try to get across through your
music?
Cole: I write lyrics whenever I have something to write about
or something on my mind.
Casey: I tend to write about girls and growing up, ya know,
the 16 year old thing.
SDP: Do you have a single song that has a special meaning
to you?
Craig: All of our songs I play fullheartedly.
Casey: "Without Me."
Cole: "Backstab" because I wrote those lyrics and
music with a lot of passion and pent up anger. "Battle
With You" is a good one too.
SDP: What bands, people, books, etc. have had the biggest
influence on your band?
Craig: I don't read, I'm a Metallica freak though.
Josh: Green Day, Rancid.
Casey: Rufio, NFG and Green Day.
Cole: I hate reading, but I'm a huge Social Distortion, Alkaline
Trio and Green Day fan.
SDP: What about Exit 21 are you most proud of?
Craig: Our solid sound.
Casey: Our diverse sound.
Josh: Our groupies!!!
Cole: Yeah.
SDP: What is the biggest thing about Exit 21 you want to
improve?
Everyone: We argue too much when writing songs.
SDP: What CDs are currently in your stereo?
Cole: Alkaline Trio- "Good Mourning" and Mest-"Wasting
Time."
Craig: Linkin Park-"Meteora" Metallica- "Master
of Puppets."
Casey: AFI-"Sing the Sorrow" Thrice.
Josh: Alkaline Trio: "From here to Infirmary" and
Anti-Flag- "Die for the Government."
SDP: Do you have any closing comments?
Cole: We have a bunch of shows coming up, we hope you guys
can check one of them out.
