Now, let’s all agree that there may, at times, be a little smoke in the air at Earthless shows. But to demean any band, especially one with solid chops,
with the label “stoner rock” is to bridle them with the image of adolescent buffoonery and the campy rehashing of repetitious Sabbath-esque

Comfortable For You - My Entire Life Is A Lie
power chords droning on through the ever-thickening bong smoke. Which isn’t bad in and of itself if you are, in fact, a adolescent buffoon with a guitar in one hand and a cored-out apple in the other (we’ve all been there, right?). Earthless have proven yet again that they know when to put down the paraphernalia and pick up the axe. Rhythms from a Cosmic Sky pounds out extended, blues-infused epic rock jams that launch us from our terrestrial bonds and into the free-form expanse of our own imaginations. And it’s damn refreshing to listen to such an unpretentious and open album. Each the three tracks are allowed to groove along its natural trajectory unforced; taking us along for a ride into metal-inspired, improvisational soundscapes. And, hell, it’s a fun ride.

Yes, there is a lot of Sabbath influence here. And, yes, you may want to roll one up while it’s playing. But let’s not too readily dismiss a well-crafted, skillfully played, and f-in fun-as-hell rock album.
