neonthief: Stranded Strangers

San Diego bands are almost always a pleasure to review, and Neontheif
is no exception. Low key, pleasantly subdued and melodically potent,
"Stranded Strangers" contains five songs that will most definitely please
fans of the Blackheart Procession, The Album Leaf, and Pinback. While |

"Richoet" and "The Beacon" are drowsy and devastatingly catchy, things
pick up a bit at "These Walls" and "Your Intrusion" and then wind down
into the last track, "Nowhere". While it has taken me months to review
this twenty-two minute endeavor, I'm happy to say that in doing so I
have found another San Diego band that is great at what they do. I
wish Neonthief all the best and hope to see them soon.
