(Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "Adams Avenue Theatre had a huge open
floor and a balcony the ringed the pit- amazing to stand up there- cause it
would get HOT- and watch the action- with the balcony swaying back and forth.
Lux Interior of the Cramps crawling on top of the monitors which had to be
30 feet high- smashing a guy in the face with the mic stand cause the dude
tried to take the mic.- and wiping out his man-hood for all to see and it
looked like a feakin' snake, with some chick up front trying to grab hold
of it)

Palisades Roller Rink
???
Fear played there and was perhaps the roller rink's only show?
Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "I remember going to see Youth Brigade
and Raw Power (from Italy) play in '85. I believe that to be the last show
in that SDSH was there and basically beat the crap out of anyone who got in
their way. They had one guy who would go out into the pit and pick a fight
with some unsuspecting victim. When the fight would start then out of everywhere
the rest of the boys would pile on and nobody could stop it, not even the
bouncers or the bands. Seem to happen at most shows I went to during the early
80's."
Palisades Theater
2838 University Avenue, North Park
7 Seconds, Bad Religion
Rio's (also called the Halcyon)
W. Point Loma Blvd.
Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "Every local band played there of all
types of music. We loved it cause we could get in underage and drink. Some
of the local bands I remember are Comanche Moon, Beat Farmers, Paul Kamanski,
Robert Vaughn and the Shadows (he thought he was pretty hot shit- wouldn't
let us sound check and we almost brawled with his whole crew), and Blonde
Bruce."

The Wierdos, The Hitmakers, The Go-Go’s, The Germs

San Diego State: Montezuma's Hall and the Back Door
Ramones, Social Distortion, Blood on the Saddle, Replacements, Paladins, Tex
and the Horseheads, Rank and File, X.
Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "The Backdoor was great 'cause it was
literally a spare room down some stairs. It was very small, a long hall with
drapes on the walls like a movie theater. It was also loud and hot. I saw
the movie Decline of the Western Civilization there (which by the way, everybody
who thought they were punk went to see and had the soundtrack vinyl- which
I still bust out at parties for the great in between song banter from X, Circle
Jerks, Germs, Black Flag, Fear and some others."
State Theater
4712 El Cajon Boulevard, Normal Heights
7 Seconds, Exploited and UK Subs
(Exploited and UK Subs played there right before they knocked it down for
years the billboard, which wasn't demolished until 1983, read those two bands)
Status Nightclub
Spring Valley
Doubled as a dance club some nights and then would book bands other nights.
Ramones, 1986 (Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "Was the loudest show I've
ever attended. They had a goofy Joey Ramone look a like contest- some embarrassed
guy won it and stood on stage for one song")
Texas Teahouse
Ocean Beach
The Jacks, Tom Cat Courtney, mod band called the Hoods, Deep in the Shed
Johnny Drunk of the Renegades: "A
lot of under aged drinking as well, it was smaller than the Pink Panther (on

street by the airport."
