From an outside perspective, it seems as if the Tijuana punk and hardcore scene has been blossoming over the past few years, and more and more San Diegans are routinely making the trek across the border to go to shows. This section will exist to provide information on how to safely enjoy a trip to Tijuana to take in a show, as well as promote some of TJ's deserving bands and venues. (If you're looking for show listings for Tijuana, please check the shows page). We are by no means experts on the Tijuana scene, so we need your help. If you have any information to contribute to this section, please send an e-mail to katherine@sandiegopunk.com.

Here's some general information on how to have a safe and fun trip across the border:
- If you respect Mexico, it will respect you. Go where you need to go and have a good time and that's it.
- The drinking age in Mexico is 18, if you're under 18, you shouldn't be drinking there.
- If you drink don't get trashed. Don't drive drunk, or fight; basically, don't act like an idiot and you shouldn't have any problems.
- Do not drink on the street!
- Going to Mexico is not dangerous. Remember, the Tijuana economy thrives on tourism so the Mexican government and local business try to ensure your visit will be a safe one. Act safe, use common sense, and you should have a good time.
